The OpenJDK Charter is the legal document that creates the Interim Governance Board and empowers it to create a Constitution for the Community. Laurie Tolson, Vice President of the Client Software Group at Sun Microsystems, Inc., signed the Charter last night at JavaOne.

Now that we exist legally (and have power, oooh), it’s time to get to work!
